While I love reading on my Fire 8 HD tablet, I have also read a few ebooks on my computer screen which I never thought I would do. I hate the glare from a combination of overhead lights and the white of the screen.
But with the computer screen set to sepia, and using one page display, the experience with Readium is acceptable. Not as good as a tablet that I can hold like a book, but acceptable. (Readium is an app or extension which works with the Chrome browser. We have added some suggested settings with Readium here.)
So if your school or school district can’t fund a ereading pilot using tablets, will students read ebooks on their computer screens using Readium? I think that many will if they find the ebook interesting.
We would love you to share your experiences with Readium with our readers in the Comments section below.
